I have gotten a new laptop (it has the same version of windows and everything as my old one). I got the Sims 3 base game installed successfully. How To Install A Microsoft Dynamics Ax Hotfix Lace on this page. However, it says it needs to be updated. I click to start the update and it just stays at 0%.

The KB/sec amount changed. But it still stays at 0% and shows 0 KB out of however many it is. It stays this way for hours!!!! Then I just give up and stop the update. My old laptop updated the game with no problems. I would stick without updating it but then it says the base game is not compatible with the expansion packs due to not being updated.

I have tried completely uninstalling all of the Sims 3 games (base and expansion packs). Then I re-installed the base game only. It still does the same thing!!!!
