I have the RCA Gold disc, and while it sounded better than the standard disc I got rid of years ago, I just picked up a used copy of Lou Reed: The Definitive Collection (mastered by Bob Ludwig at Gateway) and the tracks from Transformer on here blow the Gold disc away. Warmer, much more detail, Lou's voice and the sax solo (WOTWS) seems much smoother, and that acoustic bass on 'Walk on the Wild Side' all made me want to seek out the remaster, which I assumed would be Ludwig's work.
