Install S/mime Internet Explorer 11
Encrypt messages by using S/MIME in Outlook Web App. Install the S/MIME control. Internet Explorer 9 or later is required to send and receive encrypted messages. May 19, 2005 To install Outlook Web Access with the S/MIME control. On a computer running Windows 2000 or later and Internet Explorer 6 or later.
Below is the message received when using OWA in IE11 x32 on Win7 Enterprise x64 SP1. - computer is not connected to a domain, local user accounts only for Wi-Fi access - OWA site is added in Compatibility View - have verified that IE x32 is being used, seems to be default anyway. - S/MIME control has been downloaded and installed: Windows shows it installed as version 14.3.123.2 - Have repaired, uninstalled and reinstalled S/MIME control with no changes in message.
- Looking in the Managed Add-ons, I see that the Mime Control is listed but not loaded. (How does it get loaded Magenta Polylexicon.exe. ?) - Might be user profile related??
Can log onto another local user account and the option to download the S/MIME control is there and will download the file; however, the E-mail Security section on the OWA page never reveals the digital signature and encryption options. Logging out of the OWA site and logging back in or even restarting the computer doesn't change anything.
Only option that remains is to download the S/MIME control. - Have also tried System Restore to go back to a point in time when the S/MIME control was working.
System Restore point was successful, but S/MIME control still inop - same message below. - I have no hair left to pull out and my doctor says I need to slow down on the Hot Pockets... Welcome any insight - Thanks!
