The vehicles of choice? Specially-built Land Rover Discovery TReK competition models. The TReKs looked tough and worked just as hard, so when it came time to produce a special edition Discovery II for North America, you could guess where Land Rover looked for inspiration. The Land Rover Discovery Series II Kalahari Edition was the eye-catching result. Built for 2002, Land Rover Special Vehicles produced 150 of these bright yellow special editions, and this version, which recently, is one of those few. So what did you get in ’02 for your hard-earned $40,000? Well, a rugged appearance that tells everyone you were one of the lucky few.
The Kalahari Edition came boasting Borrego Yellow paint and a smattering of trail gear, which includes a Saudi-specification bumper and grille, a wrap-around brush guard, black roof rack and rear ladder, special vehicle badging, and a stunning set of 16-inch Typhoon alloy wheels.
